Caesium – 55

This is my personal homage to the late Oliver Sacks (1933-2015), a genius who use the periodic table of elements to trace his birthdays. He reached element 82 (Lead), let’s hope to go further in that path – Einsteinium or Fermium will be good.

The number tells the whole of the tale, doesn’t it? No? Well, it’s a very simple story: today is my birthday, now I’m 47 years old. Nothing special, just a good excuse to have a bit more of fun about myself and some numbers.

Today is the birthday of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, one of most important writers of all times when it comes to horror and weird. Many thanks to Kobayashi Maru who reminded me this anniversay and, of course, many thanks to HPL for all the suggestions in his works.

Oggi si festeggia un compleanno oro e scarlatto, una storia lunga più di due secoli che è presente nell’immaginario e nella storia. Il 10 novembre del 1775 nasceva a Filadelfia il corpo dei Marines, in origine come una forza di fucilieri di Marina e solo molto più tardi diventata la forza multiruolo che oggi conosciamo.

A tutti gli uomini e alle donne che vestono o hanno vestito l’uniforme USMC, auguri!
