It’s time to turn the page

Today is a strange day for me. After about five years I’ve reached the end of my last assignment, the longest one in my career as IT analyst/programmer. I’m in this market since 1988 and of course this is not the first time that I come to this kind of moment.

It’s time to turn the page, I’ve always got this line on my lips when the final day comes. Sometimes I already got another job on the line, sometimes I was out in the cold like today. This is quite a bad year for italian economy, the fourth in a row so far, so it looks like that I will face more problems this time.

turn the page

I know that it could sound curious, but I’m not scared. It looks like the whole of my country is on the last inch of a cliff but I’m not scared. Fear is a state of mind, right? What I think it’s that everything happens with a purpose and every change is a matter to discover new things to do (or other places to go).

I’m turning the page. Without looking back. I’ve met good people, I’ve did my best every single day and I’ve earned every penny in the meantime. I will do all that again. And again. And again.
